Okay, I know I haven't posted in ages! So sorry. I have so much to tell, but I have been sooooo busy that I haven't had time to think!
So, yes, the store is open. We opened on July 8th and had a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce before store opening. That was a bit overwhelming as there were many people in the store with very few knitters.
That meant lots of questions and constant exclamations of amazement. Once, the people from the Chamber had left, the real work began! Lots of friends came to visit, buy yarn and sit and knit. We were very busy all weekend. Not that I am complaining, mind you! It was wonderful to see many people that I hadn't seen in a while (that's what happens when you open a shop) and to meet many new friends.
You would think that once the store opens, I would have a little free time. Of course, that is not the case. Kaedean and I have been busy getting to know our POS system, reordering stock, merchandising the store on top of helping our customers. I am going to be working on our website starting this week. I would really like to get that going. Kaedean has been putting together our class schedule and coordinating our knitting groups. Here is the calendar that we have for the month of August :Download class_schedule_august_05.pdf .
As for knitting, yes, I have been knitting. Once the store opened, I needed to get more samples in the store. I knit a Sophie out of Lorna's Laces Bullfrogs and Butterflies. Looks beautiful and I will post a picture soon. I am currently working on Clapotis, also in a Lorna's Laces yarn, Lion and Lamb. Again, please be patient, I will post pictures soon!
I would like to thank everyone out there for your support and help during this extremely busy time. I promise to be more regular in my posts. And, if I have been a terrible friend and have not emailed or called, I promise that I am going to be fixing that very soon!!!!
